Joan Shearer's Obituary
Joan R. Shearer, 81, of Union, CT, beloved wife of the late Olin E. Shearer, Jr., passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Stafford Springs, CT. She was born in Springfield, MA, daughter of the late H. Ray and Mildred (White) Coburn. Joan worked at Goodhall’s Garage as a bookkeeper for many years. She was a member of the Congregational Church of Union, and belonged to the Union senior’s group. Joan is survived by her three children, Gary Shearer and his wife Robin of Union, CT, Karen Murdock and her husband Arthur of Union, CT, and Linda Kraus and her husband Chuck of Southwick, MA; five grandchildren; two great grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. A calling hour will be held on Monday, September 27, 2010 from 2-3 P.M. followed by a funeral service at 3 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in Ellington Center Cemetery, Ellington, CT.
