JoAnne (Hanic) Simpson, 86, of Wales, MA, wife of the late James D. Simpson, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 22, 2017. She was born in Wales, MA, daughter of the late John and Stefania (Lucansky) Hanic. JoAnne retired as a cook from the Wales Elementary School. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister, who was an avid New England sports fan. JoAnne is survived by her three children, James Simpson and his wife Roxanne, Pamela Phifer, and Michael Simpson; six grandchildren, Justin, Tyler, Marissa, Ryan, James, and Madison; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services and burial will be held privately. Memorial donations may be made to Overlook Hospice, 85 Masonic Home Rd., Charlton, MA 01507.
