Joel Gerald Deprey's Obituary
Joel “Gerald” Deprey 7/21/32 – 10/25/23
Jerry a.k.a. “Pops” passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family and friends. He is predeceased by his wife of 53 years Maxine and grandson, Jake. He is survived by his daughters Debbie, Sheila, Darlene, & Wendy; sons-in-law Dube, Rich, Mark & Derek. He was also lovingly known as “Pepere” to 11 grandchildren; Lindsey, Michelle, Shane, Devon, Shelby, Chelsea, Ashley, Troy, Taylor & Brooke as well as 12 great grandchildren.
After many years of working on the family farm in Eagle Lake, Maine, with an 8th grade education, he proudly enlisted in the United States Army as part of the 82nd Airborne Division. After marrying Maxine they settled in CT where they raised their four daughters. They then successfully built M & G Remodeling, which remained operational for nearly 40 years. After retirement they happily moved to Port Richey, FL.
Throughout the years, their home was a place of joy and constant laughter. Jerry’s infectious smile greeted you at the door and was always there to lend a helping hand. Before he passed he remarked how much he loved the sound of laughter. How appropriate. We were able to honor our Dad’s wish to remain in his home, as he did for “Shoo” and could not have done so without the loving support of Geri, Danny, Myra, Ralee, Ginny & Frenchy. Heartfelt thanks to the entire staff of First Light Home Care in assisting our Dad over the last few years to remain in his home until he passed. Also sincere thanks to HPH Hospice of Pasco County for their support during such a sad and difficult time for our family. Our Dad was so very thankful for the countless friendships he made along the way. His Frogs & Friends parties were infamous at Senate Manor. People that met him are forever changed for the better. There will never be another one like him. He lived for his family. He always said “work hard, play hard”.
You were F****** Amazing!
