John A. Brown's Obituary
John A. Brown, 88, of Stafford Springs, CT, husband of the late Gloria (Capluci) Brown, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Johnson Memorial Hospital. He was born in Haverhill, MA, son of the late Edwin and Mary (Cavanagh) Brown. John served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II in the South Pacific in the Battle of Tinian, Saipan, and Okinawa. John retired from Hamilton Standard as a Production Superintendant after over 30 years of employment. He is survived by his three children, Michael Brown and his wife Tessa, Alan Brown and his wife Julie, and Norma Jean McKillop and her husband Jerry; seven grandchildren, Tracy Mercier and her husband Todd, Aaron Brown, Sarah Brown, Keith McKillop, Danielle Brown, Karen Stuck and her husband Chris, and Elissa Pinette; three great grandchildren, Travis Brown, Hayley Stuck, and Owen Mercier; three sisters, Ruth, Eileen, and Jerry; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services with burial in the Connecticut Veterans Cemetery, Middletown, CT, will be held at a later date.
