John W. Ference III's Obituary
John W. Ference, III, 76, of Ashford, CT, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2015. He was born in Stafford Springs, CT, son of the late John W., Jr. and Jennie O. (Rosyar) Ference. John lived in Ashford, CT his entire life, and attended Ashford schools and was a graduate of Windham High School in 1957. He worked as a mason, and enjoyed flea markets, tag sales, the Boston Red Sox, and UConn Husky Basketball. He was a member of the Ashford Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as past president and volunteer, member of the Ashford Historical Society, St. Philip the Apostle Church, and was on the Ashford 275th and 300th Anniversary Committees. The family would like to thank doctors Kuwada and Kapadia and the entire oncology department at Windham Hospital for all their care and support during John’s illness. John is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Beverly (Goodell) Ference; two children, Jeffrey Ference and his companion Carrie Moore, and Valerie Peppin and her husband Michael; four grandchildren, Joey Peppin, Sadie Ference, Jeffrey Ference, Jr., and Jacob Chrzanowski; a special cousin, James Ference; two sisters-in-law, Esther DaRos and Diane Whitehouse and her husband Richard; and several nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 10 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in Woodward Cemetery, Ashford, CT.
