John E. Holmes Jr.'s Obituary
John E. Holmes, Jr. 81, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Blair Manor, Enfield, CT. He was born in Syracuse, NY, son of the late John E. Holmes, Sr. and Mary (Noxon) Holmes. John was a graduate of the South Kent School and Trinity College. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict, and worked as a writer in the filming industry. He was also an avid stamp collector, and member of the Manchester Philatelic Society. John is survived by his two children, Geoffrey Holmes and his wife Jennifer of Stafford Springs, CT, and Jennifer Holmes of Oakland, CA; and five grandchildren, Eric, Elizabeth, Connor, Sean, and Patrick. He was predeceased by his brother, Charles Frederick Holmes; and his sister, Mary Bloomer. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 1 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT.
