John Kenny's Obituary
John "Jack" Kenny, 63, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Waterbury, CT, son of the late Kiernan and Gladys (Bates) Kenny. Jack was a graduate of Asnuntuck Community College and the University of Connecticut. He then went on to be an LPN. He was passionate and worked for a long time as a crisis counselor. Jack was an avid writer and poet. His travels across the United States and Bermuda influenced him to publish his book "A Cave-in Time" in 2001. His gift of poetry throughout his life helped him publish "Once Upon A Mind Poetry" in 2012. A quote from his last poem read – "What do I leave behind At the end of this long climb? I leave a family well defined And a written portrait - of my time". John is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Ann Buck-Kenny; two sons, Joshua L. Kenny and Kurt N. Kenny both of Coventry, CT; grandson, Jayden Alexander Kenny; two sisters, Karen Colella and Sharon Francis; brother, Kiernan Kenny, Jr.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He has now joined his beloved dogs Cheyanne and Cinnamon. Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 31, 2013 from 9-11 A.M. with a funeral service to take place at 11 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT.
