John J. Newton's Obituary
John J. Newton, 67, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Hartford Hospital. He was born in Stafford Springs, CT, son of the late Herbert and Sophie (Galica) Newton. John served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam era, and worked as a truck driver for Growers Direct until retirement. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Leigh (Bruce) Newton; daughter, Leigh Anne Newton and her spouse Scott Crisp; two grandsons, Cody and Johnathan; and many other extended family members and friends. Family and friends are invited to celebrate John’s life on Monday, July 27, 2015 starting at 12 Noon at the American Legion Pavilion, 10 Monson Rd., Stafford Springs, CT.
