John E. Rowe, Sr., 76, of Gold St., Stafford Springs, CT, died Sunday, May 7, 2006 at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Stafford Springs, CT. He was born in Hartford, CT, son of the late Charles W. and Marie (Meyers) Rowe. John retired from Backus Motors as a mechanic and then worked at the TA truck stop in Willington, CT as a ticket collector. He was a member of the Stafford Fish and Game Club and an avid fisherman and bingo player. John is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mabel E. (Kilduff) Rowe of Stafford Springs, CT; four children, Sharon Marushan and her husband John of Union, CT, John E. Rowe, Jr. and his wife Linda of Stafford Springs, CT, Edna Rowe of Wisconsin, and Gloria DeVito of Florida; six grandchildren, Tina, Lisa, Lori, John E. III, Christopher, and Candi; six great grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Bob Peterson of West Hartford, CT; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Charles Rowe, and a sister, Anna Malinosky. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 12, 2006 at 10 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in Stafford Springs Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
