John Willis' Obituary
John L. Willis, 84, of Old Monson Rd., Stafford Springs, CT, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 15, 2011. John was born in Willimantic, CT, son of the late Joseph and Aida (Gill) Willis. He served on the State Police Auxiliary for the Town of Stafford and the Stafford Borough Police Department as a Supernumerary. He retired as Superintendent of Highways for the Town of Stafford after 35 years of service. John was a Trustee of Memorial Hall in Stafford, an Honorary Life Member of VFW Post No. 9990 in Stafford, and a member of the Nipmuck Trail Riders Snowmobile Club. He served our country in the U.S. Army during World War II. John is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Ann (Hornacek) Willis; two daughters, Joan Stachelsky and her companion David Brown of Stafford Springs, CT, and Lori Goodale and her husband Michael of Ashford, CT; two grandsons, Dustin Stachelsky of Stafford Springs, CT and Ryan Goodale of Ashford, CT; two great-grandsons, Devin and Dylan Stachelsky of Stafford Springs, CT; a brother, Bernard Willis and his wife Lillian of Ellington, CT; and several nieces and nephews.
