Joseph LaPointe's Obituary
Joseph P. LaPointe, 89, of Westford Rd., Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, CT. He was born in North Battleford Saskatchewan, Canada, son of the late Ernest and Marie (Provencher) LaPointe. Joe was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Air Force, and retired having last worked at the Ellington Box Company. He was a member of St. Edward Parish and the Strazza, Tonoli-Emhoff Post No. 26 American Legion. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Florence F. LaPointe of Stafford Springs, CT; five children, David LaPointe of Voluntown, CT, Phillip LaPointe and his wife Janet of Tolland, CT, Michael LaPointe and his wife Kathy of Hampton, CT, Anthony LaPointe of Tolland, CT, and Anne Brooks and her husband John of Stafford Springs, CT; 12 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three brothers, Lucin, Joseph, and Norman; three sisters, Martha, Theresa, and Jacqueline; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers and one sister. His funeral service will be held on Monday, October 19, 2009, with a procession forming by 9 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. at St. Edward Church, High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Sunday from 2-4 P.M. at the funeral home.
