Joseph Prucha's Obituary
Joseph Prucha, 91, of Union, CT, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Johnson Memorial Hospital. He was born in Tolland, CT, son of the late William and Anna (Bausa) Prucha. Joe was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, and retired from the State of Connecticut, Department of Transportation, Highway Division serving as a tree surgeon after 45 years of employment. An avid sportsman and outdoors man, he loved baseball, hunting, and farming his vegetable garden. He was a member of the Connecticut Tree Wardens Society and the Connecticut Tree Protective Association. He was also a proud member and supporter of the Civilian Conservation Corps and National Rifle Association, along with being a lifetime member of the VFW and numerous other local clubs. Joe is survived by his loving wife of nearly 61 years, Jane (Knoff) Prucha; six children, Marie Prucha-Fortuna; Michael Prucha and Maryann Berard; Larry Prucha and his wife Laurie; Joe Prucha and Norrie Prucha; Lisa Prucha and Karl Wulfsberg; and Rachael Prucha; granddaughter Taryn Jaramillo and grandson Todd Jaramillo, and eight additional grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Converse and Anna Prucha; niece Linda Converse, and many other nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 11 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT.
