Joshua Smialek's Obituary
Joshua R. "Smiles" Smialek, 20, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2008 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born in Springfield, MA, and was a graduate of Stafford High School. Josh was currently enrolled at Manchester Community College, having made Dean's List this past semester. He also worked as produce manager at the Stafford Food Center. Josh's passion in life was basketball. In 2005, he was named to the North Central Connecticut Conference All Conference Team. He also enjoyed volunteering his time as a basketball coach for youths. His sense of humor, dedication, to his family and friends, and love of bon fires will be remembered by many. Josh is survived by his loving mother, Gail (Daley) Smialek; his father, Frank P. Smialek III; his sister, Sarah E. Smialek, all of Stafford Springs, CT; his aunt, Tammy Sullivan-Daley and her husband Sean, and their children, Cameron, Ryan, Sam, and Callie of Belchertown, MA; his aunt Nina Smialek of Stafford Springs, CT; his uncle Jeffrey Smialek and his wife Julie, and their children Olivia and Alison; and his aunt Carol Shump, and her children Jeffrey, Jr. and Scott. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Frank P., Jr. and Helma Smialek; and maternal grandparents, Robert G. and Marion M. Daley. A calling hour will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2008 from 12 Noon to 1 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Church Service at 2 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church, West Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Joshua R.
