Karen A. Yencha's Obituary
Karen (Andrelsky) Yencha, 83, of Stafford, CT, beloved wife of the late Van A. Yencha, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at Hartford Hospital with her family by her side. Born and raised in Stafford, Karen spent her entire life in the community she cherished. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Ruth (Murphy) Andrelsky. Her Mothers family originated County of Cork Ireland. The Murphy farm was located in Stafford.
Karen is survived by her daughter, Lisa Barstow and her husband David, son, Mitchell Yencha and his wife Maria; grandchildren, Melanie Sanford and her husband Patrick, Jake Yencha, Rachel Burnick and her husband Adam, and Luke Barstow; great granddaughter, Cordelia Sanford; and brother, Glenn Andrelski and his wife Elaine.
Karen was also a pillar of the community serving on the Stafford Town Zoning Board. She was also involved in local politics, always trying to make the town of Stafford a better community for her family and all the families to come.
Karen retired from the State of Connecticut working for the Department of corrections.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, with a prayer service to take place at 1:00 PM, at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.
