Kate Ann Single's Obituary
Kate Ann Single of Tolland, CT passed away on October 19, 2023, in the company of her beloved spouse of 72 years and United States Navy Veteran, Lawrence Single. She joins her youngest daughter Patricia in the presence of her Lord and Savior, and is survived by her 3 daughters, 9 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. Originally from Johnstown, PA, and retired as an employee of the University of Connecticut, Kate Ann never met a stranger. She will be remembered as a loyal and faithful friend who opened her door to all. Blessed with beautiful red hair and an impeccable memory, she spent her days caring for others and blessing those in her life with her generous and thoughtful heart. She loved traveling with her husband and family, and enjoying music together. She was a lover of baking, cooking and passing along family recipes, proficient in clarinet and piano, and diligently completed her crossword puzzle every morning. Kitty will be dearly missed by her life love and partner Lawrence. She will be forever thought of, fondly admired, and cherished by her family and friends. The family would like to give special thanks to her aid Tania, and to all the hospice nurses and aids from Visiting Nurse and Health Services of Connecticut, for all of their loving care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 64 Pompey Hollow Rd., Ashford, CT.
