Kathleen B. Thomsen's Obituary
Kathleen (Blanchfield) Thomsen, 71, of Willington, CT, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 in the comfort of her home following a long illness. She was born in Hartford, CT, daughter of Helen (Regan) Blanchfield and the late David Blanchfield. Kathy was a graduate of Bloomfield High School, and worked at the U.S. Post Offices in Willington, CT and Willimantic, CT. Her hobbies included her grandchildren, reading, and annual attendance at the Big E for 40+ years. Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Peter A. Thomsen; her children, Timothy O. Thomsen and his wife Michelle (Bauer) Thomsen, Mathew A. Thomsen and his wife Donna Danielewski, and Kathleen A. (Thomsen) Timmins and her husband John Timmins; grandchildren, Patrick and Emma Thomsen, Clare, David, and Logan Thomsen, and Kathleen “Kit” Timmins; siblings, Judy Turner and her husband Lee, Gregory Blanchfield and his wife Ginny, and Chris Blanchfield; brother-in-law, Gary Thomsen; sister-in-law, Leslie Thomsen; aunt, Gloria Regan; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends. She was predeceased by her daughter, Jennifer Alyce Thomsen. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 11 A.M. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 511 Ashford Center Rd., Ashford, CT 06278. A luncheon will follow the service. Burial will be held privately at Willington Hill Cemetery, Willington, CT.
