Kenneth P. Kitchen's Obituary
Kenneth P. Kitchen, 69, of Stafford Springs, CT, beloved husband of Sharon L. Kitchen, died July 4, 2020 after a month long battle against Covid-19. He was born in Fall River, MA to the late William and Eva (Ormston) Kitchen. A loving, kind, funny and generous man, he was noted for his love of animals – domestic and wild – and enjoyed showing off his pictures of the wildlife roaming his backyard. His other love was beautifying his yard and he could be found working outside, always with a baseball cap on, until darkness forced him inside. He enjoyed watching UCONN Women's basketball and was a long time fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New York Giants. Ken graduated from Case High School, Swansea, MA, and Fisher Junior College, Fall River, MA, with an Associate in Science degree in the Business Management program. Ken served honorably in the United States Army from 1971-1973, with a tour in Vietnam, as a communication center specialist, and later trained with the Green Berets in England. He is survived by his wife Sharon, his daughters Rebecca Shaw (Brett) of Suffield, CT, Sharon Reardon (James) of Belgrade, ME, and Lori Gaudet (Allan) of Monroe, NY. Step-daughters, Michelle Czerkawski (Gregory) of Redding, CT, and Dawn Janucik (William Szeto) of Tolland, CT. His grandchildren, Cameron, Mackenzie, Connor and Brendan Shaw, Jenna and Jessica Reardon, Xavier Gaudet, Alex, Katherine and Stephen Czerkawski. His siblings, Nancy Fletcher, David Kitchen, Susan Kitchen and Sandy Reney. He was predeceased by his infant son, Kenneth, and his sister, Janice Kitchen Pacheco. There will be no services. Memorial donations may be made to the National MS Society, CT Chapter, 659 Tower Ave., First Floor, Hartford, CT 06112.
