Kenneth J. McQuaid's Obituary
Kenneth J. McQuaid, 90, of Stafford Springs, CT passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at St. Francis Hospital. He was born in Stafford on February 21, 1936, son of the late Hugh and Olivine (Trombley) McQuaid. Upon graduating from Stafford High School, he went to work at Pratt & Whitney for 19 years. Ken then went on to become a builder, constructing several homes in Stafford, including a large 50 lot subdivision. During his lifetime he also served as Justice of the Peace, and Special Deputy Sheriff. He enjoyed collecting stamps, riding his motorcycle and snowmobile, and camping with family and friends. He was an avid outdoorsman, having especially loved hunting and fishing. Ken also enjoyed winter vacations in South Texas, where he made countless friends from all over the US and Canada. He also worked for Homes for Humanity when in Texas. Ken is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Carolyn (Schwarz) McQuaid; children, Kenneth J. McQuaid, Jr., and Lisa Mikoleit and her husband Richard; grandchildren, Kenneth J. McQuaid, III and his wife Brittany, Jessi McQuaid, Ashley Clark and her husband Cory, and Michelle Mikoleit and her fiancé Jake; great grandchildren, Kenneth J. IV, Julia, Madelyn, Skylar, Ryder, Henry and Aurora; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Joanne McQuaid; sister, Loretta Constantino; and brothers, Hugh, William and Richard McQuaid. His funeral service will be held on Friday, July 3, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow the service at St. Edward Cemetery, West Stafford Rd., Stafford Springs, CT.
