L. Virginia "Gina" Strubell's Obituary
L. Virginia “Gina” Strubell, 87, of Stafford, CT, wife of the late Russell A. Strubell, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024. She was born in Stafford, CT, daughter of the late Alton W. and Lillian (Booth) Braun. Gina retired from Johnson Memorial Hospital as a medical records clerk after many years of service. She was a devout Catholic, lifelong parishioner of St. Edward Church, and taught religious education for many years. Gina is survived by her two daughters, MaryAnne Pelletier and her husband Jim, and Dorothy Strubell; her grandchildren, Shannon and Zachary Pelletier, and Eva Diaz; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Russell “Rusty” Strubell; brother, Alton A. Braun; and sister, Nancy Myers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Edward Church, 55 High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Edward Church, 27 Church St., Stafford Springs, CT 06076. Gina had immense faith and wished to be remembered with prayers. She held special devotion to the Magnificat of Mary and to Padre Pio.
