Lauma Gorbants' Obituary
Lauma (Krastins) Gorbants, 96, of Willington, CT passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023 in the comfort of her home. She was born in Riga, Latvia, daughter of the late Karlis and Ella (Krumins) Krastins. Lauma spent her career working as a hairdresser at Paradise Salon of Beauty in Stratford, CT. She was a member of the Latvian Lutheran Church in Manchester, CT. She also had a love of gardening vegetables and flowers, and enjoyed watching UCONN Huskies basketball. Lauma is survived by her two daughers, Eva Gorbants and Ingrid Drozdal; four grandchildren, Kristen and her husband Kevin, Evan, Nathan and Jaimie; and three nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Imants Gorbants; brother, Gunars Krastins; son-in-law, Joseph Drozdal; and grandson, Eric Drozdal. Her family would like to extend a special thank you to the hospice staff members Rose and Millie from Vitas Healthcare. They both brought so much wisdom and comfort to Lauma and her family during her journey. Both Lauma and Imants urns will be blessed on Memorial Day weekend 2024 at the Latvian Memorial Park Cemetery in Catskills, NY.
