Lawrence Emhoff's Obituary
Lawrence M. 'Larry-Poppie' Emhoff, 74, of Westford Ave., Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2007 at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Stafford Springs, CT. He was born in Stafford Springs, CT, son of the late John Emhoff and Mary (Tadler) Theising. Larry was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He retired from CUNO as a maintenance worker and then worked part time for Maple Tire Garage. Larry was a member of St. Edward Parish, the Italian Benefit Society, and Strazza, Tonoli-Emhoff Post No. 26 American Legion. He will be remembered as a kind, gentle, and thoughtful man who made instant friends and was loved by all who knew him. Larry is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 54 years, Eleanor (DalPian) Emhoff of Stafford Springs, CT; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ann. M and John DiCioccio of Glastonbury, CT, and Mary E. and Walter Smith of Stafford Springs, CT; three grandchildren, Amy, Sarah, and Kevin; two brothers and their wives, James and Nancy Emhoff, and Henry and Janice Emhoff; a devoted sister, Barbara Morin, all of Stafford Springs, CT; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers, John, Bill, George, and Tom Emhoff; and a sister, Dorothy Mihaliak. His funeral will be held on Monday, December 3, 2007, with a procession forming by 9 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. at St. Edward Church, High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Sunday from 2-5 P.M. at the funeral home.
