I was very sad to learn of Lena's passing. I find myself constantly remembering all of her kindnesses to me and my family. Lena was a wonderful person whose memory will shine bright in my heart and mind.
Lena was a wonderful co-worker and a wonderful friend. She was always ready to help you out with an alteration problem, but most of all she loved to talk and was always cheerful. She will be missed by so many including me.
My husband and I are very sorry to hear that Auntie Lena is no longer with us. She was always wonderful to me and to my family (John and Carol Begley are my parents) and she will be sorely missed.
Our family was very saddened to learn of Lena's passing...Lena was truly a sweet, kind woman, with a wonderful gift of conversation, and a quick wit.....She was very compassionate for others.........and had a prayer for all. Please accept our heartfelt sympathy, our prayers are with you and your entire family.John and Carol Begley and Family
I have known Auntie Leana for 50+ years as Christine Smith and I have been friends since 3d grade.Leana was a wonderful person and terrific aunt to Christine . She will be missed .
Lena will be missed by Holy Name Parish. She was a wonderful volunteer who generously shared her talents of sewing and baking as well as being a faithful church attender.
I have known Lena since I was a child when she was in the Rosary Altar Society with my mother.
I remember her "red" hair, her quick step, and her hand raised to volunteer to help.
She will be prayed for at all of the Masses at Holy Name Church this weekend
My family lived downstairs from Mr. and Mrs. B for almost half a century. We knew them as our second parents. Even though I did not get to see Mrs. B. very often since moving to the West, she will always remain in warm and happy memories. I will miss reminscing and laughing with her while she sat at her humming sewing machine during those brief visits at 15 Sylvan St.
May she rest forever in God's loving peace.
