Leo A. Passardi Sr.'s Obituary
Leo A. Passardi, Sr., 101, of Stafford Springs, CT died on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 peacefully at home. Son of Luigi and Fermina (Spallacci) Passardi, he was born in Stafford Springs. He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Clara (Nagorny) Passardi. He attended Stafford High School, then went on the complete training at the U.S. Marine School in Parris Island, SC, and participated in the invasion of Saipan, Tinian and Guam. He worked as a machinist at American Dye Corporation, which then became Amerbelle Corporation for over 40 years. He also earned a Purple Heart during his service in World War II. He was a member of the Model A Ford Club of Connecticut. Leo is survived by his three sons, Richard Passardi and his wife Corrine, Frederick and his wife Noreen, and Donald Passardi; daughter-in-law, Roberta Swift; brother, Charles Passardi; grandsons, Jeffrey, Noah and Abe; granddaughters, Keli, Melissa, Kathy and Amber; and many great grandsons and great granddaughters. He was predeceased by his son, Leo A. Passardi, Jr.; his brother, Lawrence Passardi; four sisters, Mary Maski, Edith Maltempo, Susan Lordi and Margaret Niemitz; brothers-in-law, Chester Maski, Sam Maltempo, William Lordi and Edward Niemitz; and sisters-in-law, Julia Passardi and Viola Passardi. A calling hour will be held on Satuday, June 17, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial with Military Honors will follow the service at Willington Hill Cemetery, Willington, CT. Memorial donations may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
