Leo A. Passardi Jr.'s Obituary
Leo A. Passardi, Jr., 77, of Willington, CT, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021 peacefully at home. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, and moved to Stafford, CT at a young age. He was the son of Leo A. Passardi, Sr. and the late Clara (Nagorny) Passardi. Leo served in the United States Army, and was a proud member of the CT Carpenter’s Union for 58 years. He took pleasure for years working on indoor and outdoor projects with his son and son-in-law. He enjoyed muscle cars, trucks, circle track and drag racing. He and Roberta enjoyed watching racing for years, most recently following NASCAR. Most of all, together they enjoyed spending time with family, especially their grandchildren. He was known for gently sharing “pearls of wisdom”, life lessons and “story time with a laugh”. His children were blessed to have a thoughtful, courageous, kind father and as a dad he always, “had your back”. As a truly generous man, he shared readily with his wife, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and friends, aspiring for the best for his loved ones. Leo is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Roberta (Swift) Passardi; daughter, Melissa and her husband Jason Talamini; grandchildren, Dante and Grandpa’s “cutie pie” Natalia; son, Jeffrey and wife Darlene (Cookson) Passardi; grandson, Dylan; his father, Leo Passardi, Sr.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and wife Corrine, Freddie and wife Noreen, and Donald Passardi; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Jewell Swift, and David Bohadik; and nieces and nephews, Keli Krantz, Kathy Aldrich, Michele Syphers, Shawn and Christopher Swift, Noah, Abe and Amber Passardi, Timothy Bohadik and Alison Martin. He was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Marlene (Swift) Bohadik; and his best friend, Gil Farrington. A private celebration of life will take place at a later date. There will be no calling hours. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp (Ashford, CT), 555 Long Wharf Dr., New Haven, CT 06511.
