Lionel J. Ricard's Obituary
Lionel J. Ricard, 92, of Stafford Springs, CT, husband of the late Alice (Cartier) Ricard, who was the love of his life, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at St. Joseph Living Center in Windham, CT, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Stafford Springs, CT, son of the late Armand and Clerina (Plasse) Ricard. Lionel honorably served our country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, and had worked in construction until his retirement. He was a parishioner at the Blessed Sacrament Parish in Vernon, CT and St. Edward Church in Stafford Springs, CT. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1395, and 70 year member of Strazza-Tonoli-Emhoff American Legion Post No. 26. Family meant everything to Lionel, and he was happiest when they were all together. Lionel is survived by his three children, Kathy Murray and her husband Bob, Rev. Rick Ricard, and Lynn Resnick and her husband Sam; four grandchildren, Aaron Murray, Adam Murray and his wife Jamie, Cody Resnick and Joshua Resnick; two great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Tyler Murray; two sisters, Jeanette Guerrette and Claire Heck; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Lionel’s wonderful care givers at St. Joseph Living Center. Their dedication, support, and love were a blessing to us. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Bernard Church, 25 St. Bernard's Terrace, Vernon, CT. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT.
