My dear friend, Lois, was my roommate at Bates College, and a fellow nursing student. We went through a lot together, and kept in touch sporadically after graduation and marriage. Our last visit with her was at her daughter’s house about 3 years ago. Even with dementia, she was still the same sparkly person. I wish I could let her daughter know how much we appreciated the visit with her. I did not realized she had died, but just decided to look her up on line.
Steve, Tom, and Patty all my best at this time. i am sorry this is so late but I just heard about your moms passing. It's always hard when we loose a loved one but especially when it's a parent it leaves a huge void in your lives. I know she was struggling for a number of years and now she can rest. I'll always remember her saying ....." oh you boys!" Please accept my sympathy and I hope the healing from your loss is easing.

My Mother Ellie Rankel worked with Lois and they were close friends. I remember Lois telling me we were Birthday buddies with Jackie Kennedy Onassis so we were in special company. My condolences to you for your loss. I just heard which is why I am posting so long after. She was a wonderful person.
To the Hasting family: so sorry for your loss. Chrissie and I spent time at your house growing because your dad was our doctor and he lived around the corner from us. Therefore, we also saw your mom during our visits. Later, it was mostly on Halloween when we'd see her. She was very sweet and I'm sure she will be missed. Take care of yourselves.

I met your mom on a few occasions and saw so much of her in you. Just beautiful. You always spoke very highly of her and I saw so many similar attributes that you Patty, and your mother shared. What I gathered was that she was a remarkable woman who left a mark on the many people she encountered. She passed on many admirable traits to you and I know the love you two shared for each other was great. You have a beautiful place named Windsong that you two have in common which brings you much comfort and peace. You were right by her side to the very end and she will be missed. Thoughts and prayers to all of you at this difficult time.
