Lucy Mottes' Obituary
Lucy E. Mottes, 96, of Leonard Rd., Stafford Springs, CT, beloved wife of the late Joseph J. Mottes, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2008 at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Stafford Springs, CT. She was born in Winfield, NY, daughter of the late William and Anna (Shraub) Kozelka. Lucy was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school for several years and was a member of their Sue Logical Society. She was also a member of the Strazza, Tonoli-Emhoff Post No. 26 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Johnson Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. As a hobby, she taught ceramic making to many local people, and enjoyed oil painting. Lucy is survived by her five children, Richard J. Mottes and his wife Carol of Stafford Springs, CT, William D. Mottes and his wife Elizabeth of Stafford Springs, CT, Leigh A. Cooley of Ellington, CT, Pamela J. Mottes of Stafford Springs, CT, and Thomas J. Mottes of Ashford, CT; seven grandchildren, Richard Mottes Jr., Nancy and husband Ron Comarella, Katie and husband John Bailey, Timothy Mottes, Penny and husband Wayne Friedrich, Steven Cooley, and Heidi Cooley; a great grandson, Riley Friedrich; and one nephew. She was predeceased by a brother, William Kozelka, and a sister, Anna Pippin. Her funeral service will be held on Monday, April 28, 2008 at 10 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in Stafford Springs Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. A calling hour will be held on Monday from 9-10 A.M. at the funeral home prior to the service.
