Mano G. Scussell's Obituary
Mano G. Scussell, 96, of Stafford Springs, CT, husband of the late Marilyn (Seely) Scussell, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital. He was born in Willington, CT, son of the late Angelo and Theresa (Lazzerin) Scussel. Mano received his carpenter apprentice certificate in 1939 before serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a Staff Sergeant during World War II. He then graduated from the General Motors Institute, and retired from the Hamilton Standard Divison of United Technologies as an expeditor. After retirement, Mano worked for several more years as a driver for McCullagh Leasing. Mano truly enjoyed his life and loved to help his family, friends, and neighbors with their various projects. He loved playing golf and played in a league until he was 93. He took pleasure in telling anyone who asked that he could regularly shoot his age, or better. He is survived by his three children, Roger G. Scussell of Brooklyn, CT, Brian K. Scussel of Stafford Springs, CT, and Melanie S. Joy and her husband Win of East Hampton, CT; as well as several nieces and nephews, and his beloved cousins. He was predeceased by his siblings, Alex, Irma, and Raymond. A calling hour will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014 from 11 A.M. – 12 P.M. with a funeral service to take place at 12 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT.
