Marcia M. Hatch's Obituary
Marcia (Mann) Hatch of Stafford, CT, passed away on January 24, 2024 at the age of 93. Marcia was born in Springfield, MA, on January 21, 1931, daughter of the late Leslie and Alma (Bangson) Mann. She attended the Springfield schools and was a graduate of the High School of Commerce, class of 1948, and was employed as a secretary at the Springfield Gas Light Company until her marriage in 1951 at which time she moved to Stafford. She was a stay-at-home mom for many years. She retired in 1997 after seventeen years of service as secretary to the superintendent of schools in Stafford. Marcia was a member and former deacon of the Stafford Baptist Church. She was a 43-year member and past president of the former Stafford Women’s Club, a member of the Stafford Historical Society, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Stafford Fire Department No. 1, a member of the Stafford Senior Center, a member of the Hillside Cemetery Association, and a former member of the Stafford Lake Association. Marcia enjoyed her time at the Mann family cottage at Staffordville Lake for 75 years. Marcia is survived by her daughter, Coralie J. Burke of Stafford, CT, her son and daughter-in-law, Andrew J. Hatch and Alison C. Hatch of Norwich, CT, her son-in-law, Stanley Czerkawski, Jr. of Santa Fe, NM.; seven grandchildren, Justin P. Wargo, Ryan G. Wargo, Kate E. Hatch, Adam L. Hatch, Ashley M. Hatch, Abigail L. Hatch, and Daniel E. Czerkawski, and one great-granddaughter, Livia M. Wargo; two sisters, Janet Breckenridge of Richmond, RI and Charlotte Barrett of Springfield, MA; and many nieces and nephews. Marcia was predeceased by her husband, Maro A. Hatch, her sons, Robert L. Hatch and Thomas A. Hatch, and her daughter, Deborah M. Czerkawski. Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024 from 4:00-6:00 P.M., with a memorial service to take place at 6:00 P.M., at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT.
