Margaret S. Eichorn's Obituary
Margaret S. "Maggi" Eichorn, 70, of Willington, CT passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 26, 2017. She was born in Salt Lake City, UT and grew up in Mountain View, CA, daughter of the late Irving and Betsy Ross (Hutchinson) Bloom. She graduated from Whittier College class of 1968. She loved being an elementary school teacher for 37 years in Rowland Heights, CA and Tolland, CT and was dedicated to education and her students. Maggi was a member of Christ Church Pomfret, where she was a member of the Altar Guild. She was also a member of Chapter S PEO (Philanthropic Educational Organization), and loved to volunteer at various other community organizations, such as the Willington Public Library, Pomfret Community Kitchen, and at book collections for at-need schools. She had a passion for quilting, especially gifting her beautiful quilts to family and friends. She had a love for music and theater. Maggi always remembered birthdays and special occasions of family and friends with beautiful cards and letters. She was a huge UCONN women’s basketball fan, and loved attending games with Al. Maggi is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Al Eichorn; a daughter, Meghan Eichorn and her fiancé Tim Stetson; a son, David Eichorn and his fiancé Ashley Molden; a grandson Lukas Stetson; brother-in-law, Jose Pacheco; nephew, Corey Bloom and his fiancé Ava Shirazi; niece, Jennifer Bloom and her wife Tiffany; sister-in-law, Cindy Hulburt; cousin, Diane Stadler; brother-in-law, James Eichorn; niece, Deanna May; and a nephew, Billy May. She was predeceased by her brother, Loring Ross Bloom. Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 11 A.M. at Christ Church Pomfret, 527 Pomfret St., Pomfret Center, CT.
