Margaret T. Pivonka's Obituary
Margaret T. Pivonka, 96, of Ashford, CT, wife of the late Louis H. Pivonka, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2015. She was born in Ashford, CT, daughter of the late John and Mary (Podracky) Tremko. Margaret retired from the University of Connecticut as a secretary. She was a devoted member of St. Philip the Apostle Church, Ashford Senior Center, Czechoslovakian – American Club of Willington, CSA Fraternal Life, and the Windham County Farm Bureau. Margaret is survived by her children, Marion Varga of Mansfield, CT, Carol Krupa and her husband Thomas of Ashford, CT, and Thomas Pivonka and his wife Maryann of Tolland, CT; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 2 great, great grandchildren; brother, Andrew Tremko and his wife Mary; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Louis J. Pivonka; sister, Anna Richwalder; and four brothers, Michael, Peter, George, and John Tremko. The family would like to thank her special caretakers, Gifty and Rose, and also Hartford Healthcare at Home for all of their support. Her funeral will be held on Friday, May 29, 2015, with a procession forming by 9:30 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. at St. Philip the Apostle Church, Pompey Hollow Rd., Ashford, CT. Burial will follow in Westford Hill Cemetery, Ashford, CT. Calling hours are on Thursday from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
