Marie E. Roethlein's Obituary
Marie E. (Finnerty) Roethlein, 82, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late James and Jane (Smith) Finnerty. Marie was a parishioner of St. Edward Church. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Richard Roethlein; five children, Christopher Roethlein and his wife Laura; Richard Roethlein and his wife Nicole, Jennifer Kuhnly and her husband Scott; Terry Roethlein; and Mia Roethlein and her wife Nadine Budbill. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and 14 grandchildren: Emilee, Kelsey, Nellie, Morgan, Anneliese, Greta, Ava, Sean, Matthew, Nathan, Kay, Zachary, Cullen, and Riley. She was predeceased by 11 siblings. After an early stint in banking, Marie embraced a long and lively career as a “domestic engineer”. Marie was known and loved for her quick wit, Irish grit, and feisty nature. Small in stature but large in presence, the loss of her wise and candid observations will leave a profound void in the lives of all who knew her. Her Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 1:30 P.M. at St. Edward Church, 55 High St., Stafford Springs, CT.
