Mary N. Coltey's Obituary
Mary N. (Newton) Coltey, 61, of Stafford Springs, CT passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024 at St. Francis Hospital after a long fight with continuous illness. She was born in Hartford, CT, daughter of the late Wilmer and Audrey (Regan) Newton. Mary loved spending her time with her beautiful grandchild and her daughters. Depending on the time of year you could find her watching her favorite prime time tv shows, rewatching shows like Love Boat or finding some funny videos online to send to her children and her closest friends because they made her laugh and she wanted to share that with anyone and everyone. She was the strongest person. She had been sick for a while and no one around her would know exactly how sick because she never wanted to be a burden to anyone. Mary was someone that would give the shirt off her back or her last penny to help the people closest to her and even to someone she just met. She had the kindest soul. Mary is survived by her two daughters, Shelbi and Chyanne Coltey; granddaughter, Genevieve Coltey; brothers, Robley Dewey Newton, Wilmer L Newton, John M Newton, Timothy K Newton, and Thomas E Newton; sister, Kathleen Newton Kapucinski; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Patricia R Newton. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church, 8 Church St., Stafford Springs, CT.
