Mary A. DeMontigny's Obituary
Mary A. DeMontigny, 90, of Windham, CT, wife of the late Thomas A. DeMontigny, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 30, 2015 at Douglas Manor. She was born in Willington, CT, daughter of the late Pasquale and Antoinetta (Rigida) Scrima. Mary retired from the Mansfield State Training School working with special needs children in many different capacities. Lovingly referred to as Gram, she is survived by her two daughters, Tina Manfreda and her husband Matthew of Windham, CT, and JoAnn Garland and her fiancé Paul Stankausky of Vernon, CT; two devoted grandchildren, Matthew and Hannah Naumec; sister, El Vera Wheeler of Meriden; and a niece and nephew. She was predeceased by her sister, Evelyn Sylvester of New London, CT. Mary deeply loved her family and was extremely proud of her cherished grandchildren with whom she held very special bonds. Mary truly left her mark with all who came in contact with her. She was not afraid to tell you how she saw things but always with a loving smile. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Douglas Manor Nursing home in Windham for their exceptional care and love shown for Mary over the past year and especially over the last two weeks. A calling hour will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 from 1-2 P.M. with a funeral service to take place at 2 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Memorial donations may be made to Douglas Manor, 103 North Rd., Windham, CT 06280.
