Masako S. Avery's Obituary
Masako S. Avery, 91, of Stafford, CT, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT. She was born in Moji, Japan, the daughter of the late Isoji and Satako Suenaga.
Masako spent most of her life devoted to her family as a farmer’s wife, a role she embraced with quiet strength and unwavering dedication. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—especially food, which she both loved and delighted in sharing with others. She had a deep appreciation for flowers, nature, and the beauty of the beach. Her love for animals, particularly her dogs, was a constant throughout her life.
Above all else, Masako cherished her family. She shared a remarkable 67-year marriage with her beloved husband, Myron R. Avery, Sr., a bond built on love, devotion, and partnership.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her five children: Arlene F. Avery; Myron R. Avery, Jr.; Barbara A. Avery; Roger S. Avery and his wife, Beverly; and Joseph D. Avery. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Noli and Yoshi Suenaga. She was predeceased by four siblings and her daughter-in-law, Robin Avery.
Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in Somers Old West Cemetery in Somers, CT. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
