Michael Duda's Obituary
Michael Duda, 69, beloved husband of Arlene Duda, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 31, 2016 with his loving family by his side. Michael owned and operated B&M Garage in Stafford Springs for over 40 years where he grew up working with his father Bruno Duda. The garage brought Mike so much joy - it was by far the most important aspect of his life. He loved working on cars, but he loved his customers more. Mike was a selfless worker, valuing relationships, kindness, and generosity over anything else. In his earlier years, Mike enjoyed working with Corvettes and volunteering at the Stafford Motor Speedway. He loved driving up and down the east coast hauling cars on his carrier. He attended the races at Riverside and made yearly visits to the Big E. More recently, Mike enjoyed traveling with his family and hunting for treasures at flea markets and auctions. He was fascinated by railroadiana as well as toy cars and trucks. He loved to tinker and could fix just about anything. Besides his wife Arlene, Michael is survived by his son Robert Lumbra, daughter Alyssia Grakowsky and her husband Justin Grakowsky, grandson Logan Grakowsky, and mother-in-law Betty Uryga. He was predeceased by his father Bruno Duda, mother Elizabeth Duda, and lifelong friend Tony Gyngell. He leaves behind many loving friends, including best friends Wayne Berriault, Eddie Barton, and Tony DaDalt. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Parikh for all of his heartfelt dedication and to the supportive Stafford office for all of their love and kindness. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2016 from 5-7 P.M. with a service of remembrance to take place at 7 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will be held privately. For online condolences or directions, please visit: www.introvignefuneralhome.com
