Michael E. Dunay Sr.'s Obituary
Michael E. Dunay, Sr., 89, of Stafford Springs, CT, husband of the late Patricia (Hanley) Dunay, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2016. He was born in Stafford Springs, CT, son of the late John and Elizabeth (Omasta) Dunay. Mike was a graduate of Stafford High School and the University of Connecticut. He served in the United States Army during World War II holding the rank of Master Sergeant. Mike worked as a maintenance supervisor at CUNO, and then as a supervisor for the Town of Stafford Water Pollution Control. He was a member of St. Edward Church, where he sang in the choir for many years, and was a member of the Stafford Senior Center. Mike is survived by his seven children, Barbara Consolini and her husband Jerry of West Springfield, MA, Michael E. Dunay, Jr., Patricia Ducharme and her husband William, and Margaret DeCicco and her husband Peter all of Stafford Springs, CT, Ann Satkowski and her husband David of Deerfield, MA, Judith Zelz and her husband John of Crystal Lake, IL, and Timothy Dunay and his wife Yvonna of Midland, TX; 18 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; four sisters Mary Dlubac, Margaret Woytik, Helen Cartier and her husband Roger, and Catherine Malack and her husband Frank; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, John and Joseph Dunay; and three sisters, Ann Turner, Elizabeth Pepin, and Sophie Swift. His funeral will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2016, with a procession forming by 9 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. at St. Edward Church, High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Friday from 4-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
