Michael S. Knybel Sr.'s Obituary
Michael S. Knybel, Sr., 69, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away unexpectedly with his loving family by his side on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital. He was born in Manchester, CT, son of the late Leo and Sophie (Knybel) Lemire. Mike worked for 25 years at Johnson Memorial Hospital in the maintenance/engineering department, and then for the Town of Stafford for 15 years as a waste transporter for the Water Pollution Control Facility. He was a racing enthusiast and former driver, racing at Waterford and Stafford Motor Speedway. He was also a lifetime member of the Kosciuszko Benefit Society Club of Rockville, an avid camper, and enjoyed playing horseshoes, cards, and above all, spending time with his family. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Ann (Ulitsch) Knybel; three children, Michael S. Knybel, Jr., Paula Gamble and her husband Thomas, and Laura Secore and her husband David W., Jr.; eight grandchildren, Michael S. Knybel, III, Ashley, Storm, Colby, Ryan, Cassandra, Tyler, and Victoria; and great grandson, Liam Jaykob. His funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2014, with a procession forming by 9 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. at St. Edward Church, High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Tuesday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
