Myrta E. Maldonado's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Myrta Maldonado,
Myrta E. Maldonado, 57, of Hartford, CT passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023. She was born in Yonkers, NY to Eva Y. Diaz. She was a radiant soul with an unwavering love for music, the beach, her family, and the simple joys of life. Her kind heart, boundless generosity, and unyielding determination have left an everlasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Myrta lived a big life, wherein she found incredible happiness in the vibrant sounds of Spanish, pop, and freestyle music. Whether she was singing along to her favorite songs or swaying to the rhythm, music became the soundtrack of her life, filling her days with joy and rhythm.
The beach held a special place in Myrta's heart, serving as her sanctuary of tranquility and serenity. She reveled in the sensation of warm sand beneath her feet and the gentle caress of waves against her skin. But, Myrta's love for the sun was immeasurable; she would bask in its radiant glow, cherishing the feeling of the warm rays upon her face and seeking that perfect tan that reflected her vibrant spirit. Her happiest days were of enjoying a beach day alongside her love, David Hartwig, while planning when she could next see her grandchildren. She spent her last few months chasing the sun and dancing the days away with David who blissfully basked in the sunlight that was her love.
Turtles, Myrta's favorite animals, are viewed as symbols of resilience and motherhood. With their shells protecting them, they withstand numerous obstacles, showcasing their ability to adapt to both land and water conditions. Turtles embody strength and resilience. Like turtles do, she navigated through life's challenges with grace and strength. But, turtles are also seen as symbols of motherhood because of how they care and provide for their offspring. They remind us of the importance of family, unconditional love, and the sacrifices made for the well-being of our loved ones. Like her favorite animals, Myrta's unwavering devotion to her family truly defined her. She joyfully spent her hard-earned money on her son and grandchildren, selflessly ensuring their needs were met, even if it meant giving her last dime. However, she did not only enjoy gift-giving/providing, but she would relish in spending quality time with her grandchildren through playing with them or simply treating their every word as if it were precious. Her love knew no limits, as she would move mountains to provide for her family. In the face of a harsh upbringing and challenging surroundings, Myrta was a beacon of strength, always ensuring her children had a roof over their heads and a place to call home. So, while Myrta may have had a difficult life she, like the turtles, would persevere for herself and even more so for her family.
Myrta had a deep appreciation for celebrating holidays, infusing them with her infectious joy and spirit. She eagerly embraced family traditions, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for her loved ones. During any family gathering, you could expect to hear her booming laugh as she laughed as freely as she loved. Myrta's love for celebration created cherished memories that will forever be treasured by both her family and her fiancé. Myrta Maldonado's legacy of love, resilience, and selflessness will forever remain in the hearts of her son, grandchildren, and all those who were fortunate to know her. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, let us carry her spirit within us, embracing the power of music, cherishing the beauty of nature, and valuing the immeasurable love of family.
