Nancy Comarella's Obituary
Nancy (Mottes) Comarella, 44, of Union, CT, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, April 27, 2013. She was born in Hartford, CT, daughter of Richard and Carol (Utermarck) Mottes. Nancy graduated from Stafford High School in 1986 and went on to earn her Associates Degree from Western New England College and Bachelors Degree from St. Joseph's College. She was employed as Administrative Coordinator of the History Department at The University of Connecticut. Previously she worked as an Educator in the children's program at Olde Sturbridge Village. Nancy was active in her community. She served on the Zoning Board of Appeals and the Board of Education for the town of Union, CT. Nancy especially enjoyed spending every available moment with her beloved son, Jake, and loving husband Ron. She loved gardening, reading, antiquing and carefully restoring her historic home with her husband. Nancy had a heart of gold which she shared with her immediate and extended family. Her fondness for history was evident in her vivid recollection of childhood memories that she would share with true joy. She was known to be an avid reader and rescuer of lovable, abandoned dogs. Nancy is survived by her husband, Ron Comarella of Union, CT, her toddler son Jake, her parents, Richard and Carol Mottes of Stafford Springs, CT, her brother, Rich of Stafford Springs, CT, her sister Katie and husband John Bailey of West Hartford, CT, and her nieces Payton and Rowan Bailey. She also leaves behind her aunts and uncles Elizabeth Gregorio, Zenna Brisson and her husband Wally, Jean Palacko and her husband Richard, Bill Mottes and his wife Betty, Leigh Cooley, Pamela Mottes and Thomas Mottes, many loving cousins and friends, and her stalwart pal and pet, Buddy. She will be sorely missed by her entire family. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from 2-4 P.M. with a funeral service to take place at 4 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in Stafford Springs Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT.
