Nancy J. Leighton's Obituary
Nancy J. Leighton, 82, of Stafford Springs, CT, wife of the late Gerald C. Leighton, Jr., passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2018. She was born in Stafford Springs, CT, daughter of the late John F. and Flora E. (Locke) Roche. Nancy delivered meals on wheels for over 30 years, and was a member of the Stafford Senior Center. Her favorite hobby was playing cards, and she traveled to many different senior centers to do so. She was also a member of the Strazza, Tonoli-Emhoff Post No. 26 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and the Stafford Fire Department No. 1 Ladies Auxiliary. Nancy is survived by her two children, Gerald C. Leighton, III and his wife Janet of Union, CT, and Lisa Lombardi of Ormond Beach, FL; two grandchildren, Zandra Trudeau and her husband Cody of Canterbury, CT, and Trisha Bogar of Asheville, NC; great granddaughter, Leighton Trudeau; two sisters, Anna Forbes and Gloria Mattarelli; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends and card playing buddies.
