The members of First Church of Christ, Scientist in Willimantic, CT. have many fond memories of Maria -- her keen intellect, her directness, her good humor, and her deep love for humanity. She served in our public Reading Room with great joy -- traveling quite a long distance to be there faithfully every week. She saw each person with dignity and offered words of encouragement and inspiration based on her own life. Maria provided an excellent example of life-long learning, continuing to read and study and reason and pray her way through challenges facing her. We are all very grateful that she crossed our paths and was part of our church family.
