Oreste Tiziani's Obituary
Oreste L. 'Tizy' Tiziani, 92, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2007 in Rockledge, FL. He was born the third son and last surviving child of the late Augusto and Lucia (Scussel) Tiziani, who settled in Stafford Springs, CT and raised seven children after immigrating from Italy. Except for his last two years in Florida, Tizzy was a life long resident of Stafford Springs, CT. Tizzy was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II where he worked in the construction of landing crafts for operations in Europe. As licensed electrician, he spent most of his career in electrical construction management, primarily in the Hartford metropolitan area. He recently received his 71 year service pin from IBEW Local 35. Tizzy was a member of St. Edward Parish, Honorary Life member of the Italian Benefit Society, and member of the Strazza, Tonoli-Emhoff Post No. 26 American Legion. Oreste is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Marjorie Bergen Tiziani; four children, Bergen Kirk of Tiburon California, Susan Hopper of Carriacou, West Indies, Robert Tiziani of Seekonk, Massachusetts, and Richard Tiziani of New Orleans, Louisiana; eleven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 10 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Tuesday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
