Ovila Hurlbut's Obituary
Ovila Thomas 'Tom' Hurlbut, 80, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at Evergreen Health Care Center, Stafford Springs, CT. He was born in North Adams, MA, son of the late Thomas and Angelina (Trembley) Hurlbut. Tom was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and retired as a truck driver from New Car Carriers after many years in the profession. He was a member of the Strazza, Tonoli-Emhoff Post No. 26 American Legion, V.F.W. Post No. 9990 of Stafford, and the Stafford Sportsmen Club. Tom is survived by his two children, Thomas S. Hurlbut and his companion Michele of Stafford Springs, CT, and Judy (Hurlbut) Patterson of Kansas; four grandchildren, Wyatt Hurlbut, Angelina Patterson, Kevin Patterson and his wife Heather, and Shane Patterson; two great grandsons, Daniel and Chad; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his first wife, Irmgard (Boldt) Hurlbut; his second wife, Muriel (Goulet) Jordan Hurlbut; and two sisters, Rene Duquette and Angelina McAllister. A graveside service and burial will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at 10 A.M. at St. Edward Cemetery, West Stafford Rd., Stafford Springs, CT. There are no calling hours.
