Patricia "Tish" Ignatowicz's Obituary
Patricia “Tish” Ignatowicz, 64, of Willington, CT passed away unexpectedly on Sunday June 1, 2025. She was born in Syracuse, NY, daughter of the late Patrick and Doris (Campbell) Polcaro.
Until her retirement earlier this year Tish was employed by the Town of Willington for over 15 years. From 2009-2019 she served as the Town Treasurer; 2019-2021 as Account Analyst and from 2021-2025 she was Assistant Business Manager. During that time she was the Town Webmaster too. In fact, she wore many hats. She was an election worker, a fill-in for other departments and for a short time the Human Services Assistant.
Tish was an avid fan of college basketball, especially the UCONN Women Huskies. During any given game she could, and would, tell you how many fouls, points and assists each player had often calling the plays even before the announcers did. Then she’d proudly say, “didn’t I just say that!”
Tish was a graduate of SUNY Cortland and obtained a bachelor's degree in education. She was a long-time member of the Federated Church of Willington and for years sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and served for many years as the Church Treasurer. She was also Co-chairperson for many years of the town annual flea market working wherever needed.
Tish is survived by her beloved husband of 36 years David Ignatowicz; three sons, Matthew Ignatowicz, Michael Ignatowicz and David Ignatowicz and his wife Jennifier; two grandsons, Colby and Samual Ignatowicz; two brothers, Jim Polcaro and his wife Pam, and Rick Polcaro and his partner LouAnn Smith and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother Charles “Chuck” Polcaro.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Tish’s life at a memorial service on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial in Moose Meadow Cemetery, Willington, CT, will take place privately. To leave a condolence online for the family, please visit: www.introvignefuneralhome.com
