Patricia Ireland's Obituary
Patricia Ireland, 84, left us on December 18, 2023, in Sparta, TN. Born on August 18, 1939, in Somersworth, NH, Pat grew up in Dover, NH, spending some years back in Somersworth before moving to Stafford Springs, CT where she raised her five children. She worked for many years greeting patients at the front desks of local doctors offices in CT before heading to FL to do the same. She also spent years living in TN and NC to be near her children. She was warm and a little sassy, a good friend, a lover of cats, an avid reader, beach lover, and a fierce and feisty mother. She is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Lillian Charland, her brothers Michael and Henry Charland, as well as her husband, Dwain Ireland, and her eldest son, Gary Wooley. She leaves behind her daughters, Karen Sprake of NC, and Gaye Sgamboti of CT; her sons Eric Wooley of FL, and Jay Ireland of TN, along with her son-in-law Carl Sgamboti, 15 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. The family is most grateful to the warm and dedicated staff at NHC Sparta who were so accommodating and made her stay so comfortable. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to a local animal shelter in her name.
