Patricia O'Brien's Obituary
Patricia (Urda) Thompson O’Brien passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024. She was the daughter of Andrew and Sadie Urda, was born in Stafford Springs, CT on August 29, 1942, and lived there most of her life. She attended Pinney School for 8 years, then Stafford High School, where she was an honors graduate in 1960. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Central Connecticut State University. During her long career, she was an English teacher at Rockville High School and a certified nursing assistant at Blair Manor in Enfield, CT. She was the widow of Kenneth Thompson, Sr. in 2000, who was the father of her children, Kenneth, Jr. and Kurt. She once again became a widow with the passing of her husband, Peter O’Brien, in 2007. Patricia leaves, in addition to her sons, her daughters-in-law, Jaime (Josephiac) Thompson, and Stephanie Thompson. She was predeceased by her sister, Eleanor Urda, in 2023. To mourn her passing, she leaves seven grandchildren: Bailey, Cooper, Tripper, Kyle, Cameron, Marina, and Paityn. Pat also says her final goodbye to lifelong friends, Carolyn (Bradway) Livermore, Elizabeth (Kana) Mottes, and David Murphy. She also bids farewell to longtime friends William Mottes and Pauline Valery. She was a faithful member of the First Lutheran Church in Ellington, CT until its closing. There will be a visiting hour from 10:00-11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 3, 2024 followed by a prayer service at 11:00 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT.
