Patricia Panciera's Obituary
Patricia "Pat" (McCune) Panciera, 73, passed away peacefully at her home in Stafford Springs, CT, on August 21, 2012, surrounded by love. Pat was born on July 30, 1939 in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Ralph and Marcene McCune. After graduation from Iowa State Teachers College, her dream to teach took her to Tolland, CT, where she lived for many years with her dear friend, the late Bernice Aborn. Pat taught in the Tolland school system until her retirement. In 1980 Pat married her beloved husband, Raymond Panciera. She was an avid traveler and reader, and a woman of many stories. Among her favourite stories were meeting the author, Pearl S. Buck, and shaking hands with Perry Como. Pat was an active volunteer for the University of Connecticut Cancer Centre; an active member of the Gaming Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority; and a member of the Red Hat Society. Pat is survived by her step-daughters, Lynn Panciera-Fraser of Alexandria, VA, and Susan (Anthony) Bentley of Marietta, GA; her sister-in-law, Edith Bresnahan of Stafford Springs, CT; her brother-in-law, Edward Panciera of Stafford Springs, CT; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A very big part of Pat's life was the Falcone family, especially the twins – Lauryn and Justine, and Morgan and Kelsey – all of whom brought Pat much happiness. Besides her parents and her husband, Pat was predeceased by her sister, Linda Cliburn. The family would like to acknowledge and thank Cindy Kabel and her family, Brenda Henderson, and Jim and Teresa Lawlor for the compassionate care they gave Pat during her illness. A memorial service celebrating Pat's life will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at 2 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Safe Net Ministries, 86 Main St., Stafford Springs, CT 06076.
