Paul J. Lasewicz, Jr.'s Obituary
Paul J. Lasewicz, Jr., 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. He was the cherished husband of Anne M. (Connelly) Lasewicz for 60 years, and a proud father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He was born in Bristol, Connecticut on March 1, 1935, son of the late Paul J. Lasewicz, Sr., and Alice (Ginzanski) Lasewicz. A life-long resident of Connecticut, he lived in Bristol, New Britain, Ansonia, Terryville and Enfield, before spending his last 40 years in Stafford. He served in the United States Army in Korea, taking great pride being the chief mechanic for the “Lady Anne”, his beloved helicopter. He remained handy throughout his life, both in his career as a materials research specialist at Hamilton Standard and United Technologies, and in his many hobbies over the years – restoringcars, working in his darkroom, and operating CB and Ham radios. He was an avid ten-pin bowler, throwing his big hook in work leagues for decades. He loved being near the ocean, both during his years sailing the Claddagh in the waters off of Cape Cod and Rhode Island, and during his many vacations to Ocean Point, Maine. A huge UConn Husky fan, he enjoyed seeing both the mens and womens basketball teams win their many national championships. He was thrilled to see the Boston Red Sox break the curse, and enjoyed watching the New York Giants. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons David M. Lasewicz and his spouse Susi, of West Thompson, Connecticut, and Paul C. Lasewicz and his spouse Janet, of Southbury, Connecticut, and his daughter Beth Ann Sikorski; his grandchildren Kathryn Lasewicz, Kyle Lasewicz, Nicholas Lasewicz, and Morgan Lasewicz. He is also survived by his brother William Lasewicz and his spouse Sue, of Huntsville, Alabama, his sister Alice “Lorrie” Hardy of Leland, North Carolina, his brother-in-law Edward Basset of Farmington, Connecticut, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Frances (Lasewicz) Basset. A calling hour will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 12-1 P.M. with a funeral service to take place at 1 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, Connecticut. Burial will take place privately at the State of Connecticut Veterans Cemetery, Middletown, Connecticut. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of choice.
