Peter J. Harper's Obituary
Peter J. Harper, 70, of Stafford Springs, CT, and formerly of Hackensack, MN, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2015 at Johnson Memorial Hospital. He was born in Rush City, MN, son of the late James E. and Lila M. (Westerlund) Harper. Peter retired from the United States Army ranked as Master Sergeant and having served during the Vietnam era. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Lois (Johnson) Harper; daughter, Jenna Barnett and her husband John; two grandchildren, Joshua and Adrianna Barnett; one sister; and one brother. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 25, 2015 at 5:30 P.M. at Hope Springs Church, 78 East St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by Military Honors at 6:00 P.M. Refreshments will be available following Military Honors in the church hall. Burial will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the State of Connecticut Veterans' Cemetery, Middletown, CT.
